Stackpole Electronics MLF: Melf resistors provides improved pulse-power characteristics
Using a thin-film-nichrome-resistive element, the MLF surface-mount-resistor series suits robust pulse-power handling; precision, high-speed power supplies and controls; utility metering; and test equipment. The increased amount of resistive material on the package allows better pulse-power characteristic than similar-sized thin-film-chip resistors. The device comes in standard- and high-power version ranging from 0.25 to 1W and provides 0.1% tolerances and 10-ppm TCRs (temperature coefficients of resistance). Typical values range from 10Ω to 5.1 MΩ; however, not all values are available in all size-tolerance and TCR combinations. Available in 3.45×1.35-mm 0204 and 5.9×2.2-mm 0207 packages, the MLF series sells for $60 to $600 (1000) based on depending on size, tolerance, and TCR.
