International Rectifier IRS212x: High-voltage ICs integrate protection features

The 600V IRS212x single-channel gate-driver family suits motor-control applications at low-, mid-, and high-voltage levels, as well as a variety of circuit topologies, including three-phase-inverter and H-bridge topologies using MOS-gated power devices. Features include a 20V gate voltage; a 290-mA typical turn-on current; a 600-mA typical turn-off current; and the ability to accept 3.3, 5, and 15V input-logic levels. The drivers also provide undervoltage-lockout protection, overcurrent detection and protection, and fault reporting. Available in a SO-8 surface-mount package, the members of the IRS212x family costs 79 cents (100,000) each.
