Extreme Engineering Solutions XPedite5140, XPedite7040, and XPedite8040: Advanced mezzanine cards feature high-performance, dual-core processors

Suiting use in AdvancedTCA and MicroTCA systems, the XPedite5140, XPedite7040, and XPedite8040 advanced mezzanine cards target applications requiring Freescale high-performance Power processors. The XPedite5140 uses an MPC8641D running two e600 PowerPC cores at 1.5 GHz and is configurable with as much as 4 Gbytes of DDR2 SDRAM and 4 Gbytes of NAND flash. I/O support includes quad GbE (Gigabit Ethernet) ports, serial ports, and PCIe (PCI Express). Targeting x86-compatible applications, the XPedite7040 provides maximum performance and I/O options and minimal power consumption. The device includes an ultralow-voltage Intel Core Duo processor or a low-voltage Intel Core 2 Duo processor. The XPedite8040 provides power reduction and a high-performance dual 2-GHz processor for AdvancedTCA and MicroTCA system designers. The processor features as many as 4 Gbytes of DDR2 SDRAM, quad GbE ports, dual 10-GbE XAUI ports, and PCIe links. Prices for the XPedite5140, XPedite7040, and XPedite8040 range from $2000 to $4000, depending on memory configuration, clock speed, and volume commitments.
